1:00 AM Homburg

Coleman continues to face new challenges daily. He has an infection that I failed to mention earlier. His breathing is rated as adequate, but not good. His vitals are more or less stable. His renal function is at the low end of the spectrum that dictates dialysis which may happen tomorrow. Bleeding is ok, and not considered serious at this time. His liver is still the main issue.

The doctors are now re-examining their treatment protocols - at least discussing it. Pray for their meeting in the morning at 7 am Homburg time. All are still frank about the prospects, in any case, but none are counting him out.

Belinda and I have moved to a hotel within walking distance of the hospital and no longer need army transport. Please pray especially for Belinda's endurance - she is able to spend as much time as she wants with Coleman and is reading him the posts on this site, notes from church and just generally conversing with him and expressing our love. Thank you all for continuing to pray for our son - he is still fighting.

  1. Please let Coleman know that we are praying for him and love him lots. Let him know that Spencer is going to take him out on the go kart track this spring and show him how to drive! Our cat "Coleman" looks forward to Coleman's return home also. We continue to pray and know that we WILL receive a miracle in witnessing Coleman's complete healing. Christa and her friends send their love as do the rest of us.

  9. Belinda & Eric, Somehow we know that God is working this together for His glorification. We see a snapshot - God sees the entire picture.
What an honor that Coleman has been chosen to further the Plan of God, and what a testimony that you are all having to the wonderful Grace of God. Continue to know that you are all loved and being upheld in the Throneroom of Grace.

  10. Sweet, special sister, I am so thrilled with the answer to prayer that is allowing you and Eric to be with Coleman. Thank you for your prayers for Madgie. She has been talking with Jordan and you will take comfort in knowing, as will Coleman, that they are comforting eachother as their hearts break for their beloved friend who is so sick. We are all praying for you Belinda and Eric, your strenth to continue as you spend precious moments with your son and that his liver will recieve a miraculous healing. Little Meg sends her love and has tried to add to the blog but can't seem to find the words, nor can Mike, who is praying alongside all of us.

  13. Coleman, we love you so much and we continue to pray without ceasing! I was just thinking today about our amazing violent childhood lol. Heahter and I were looking back on pictures of you snuggling with me at grandmas. I wish i could keep u warm right now. Your gonna make it through this! Heather and I pray that the God our savior will grant Coleman a full and speedy recovery and complete remission. My little brother is a hero! He deserves a purple heart for his bravery. I would like to thank Coleman for teaching me valuable lessons in my life. Already I have made a concious decision to live each day to the fullest, to forgive, to love like i have never loved before, and to find blessings and peace in the midst of tragedy.

Coleman, you have always been my best friend even though we have both grown up and our lives have put strain on our relationship from time to time. I wouldnt be the person i am today if it werent for the person you have been my whole life. I cant express enough how much i love and care about you and how many others care about you and love you. Jesus, you are the creator of the universe you give and you take away, what is old you can make new, what is dead you can bring to life, you make the poor rich, and you make the weak strong. Come into Colemans life and fill him with new life, in you Christ Jesus, Amen..stay strong brother

  16. Coleman - I have watched you grow from the tiniest infant boy to a strong and courageous man. I have so many memories of you that I cannot even begin to narrow them down. God has held you in His loving hands your whole life and He will not fail you now. He knows the number of hairs on your head and He cares for you more than all of us combined. He is your strength. He will stand in the gap and hold your body together even when the parts are so weak. Hold on to that strength, cling to it. Come back home so that we can all wrap our arms around you and welcome you back like we so long to do. We all love you so much and are praying for you in every moment.

Belinda - Words do not do justice. I stand in constant awe and amazement at the endurance and faith you are demonstrating. From the moment I heard this news I have wanted to do nothing more than to embrace you, but in the absence of that ability, I'm trusting that God is making you feel the loving embrace of all of us who love you around the world. We are in constant prayer. You do not have the strength to make it day to day in this situation, but your loving Father does. Lean on Him. He will hold you up and give you peace when it feels like you can't go on. He is working mightily every moment and the testimony you and Eric and Coleman are demonstrating for the world is unfathomable.

I love you so much and have never been prouder to consider you a surrogate mom, friend and sister in Christ. Come back to us soon and bring your precious baby with you.

    Love, Rochelle

  26. Praise you Father that Eric & Belinda are now able to remain by Coleman's bedside and that he is hearing the loving voices of his parents. Praise you Father that lives are being changed because of your testimony in the lives of Coleman, Eric, Belinda, Emil, Heather, Jordan and the rest of the family.

Becky couldn't sleep last night and got up and painted her prayer and brought it for us to see - a painting of our Heavenly Father watching over Coleman's bedside. Such a beautiful reminder of the love He has for Coleman. Just as He takes care of the sparrow, He is tenderly watching over Coleman.

Oh God you are not a respecter of medical statistics - You are the ruler of the Universe and you can place your merciful and mighty hand on Coleman and heal him. You are able to do exceedingly above all we could ever ask. We ask that you touch Coleman and heal him - and that you receive all the praise.

  27. Coleman, I want you to know how proud I am of your Dad and Mom for finding a way to tell you how so many hundreds of us are with you right now.

I knew you were a warrior from the day I watched you streak around on that hockey rink with such fearless determination ... but you've redefined that word for me in recent years.

I've loved you without reservation since the day you were born ... but your attitude, decisions and actions have earned an admiration and respect that has transcended our family ties and made me recognize that you are indeed a very special kind of man.

I know that you'll keep fighting and that God will be with you every step of the way because you are an absolute joy to Him as you are to me.

That's why verything is going to be wonderful.

  32. Coleman, you don't know me at all. However, your parents loaned us their Yukon SUV to take a wonderful family trip to the Dakotas. I knew anyone who would loan a vehicle to friends (it was actually loaned to Win & Rob Noren) were very special people with large hearts and even larger faith. So, knowing what kind of people your parents are, I KNOW you are a very special person too. This year I witnessed my husband go through "near death" with kidney and liver failure. I KNOW, with God's help and guidence and decisions, people DO survive earthly fatal diseases. Stan and I are praying for your full healthy return. We know God's will is in control. We pray you and your entire family can get some rest while you reach your point of healing.

  33. Dear Coleman,
I have been praying for you. I really hope you get better. Coleman, do you remember when it was my moms wedding day, and we were wrestling in one of the rooms? Or the time you kept" acidently" throwing me into grandmas pool? I hope once you get better we can have more fun like that. I pray god protects you. My moms asking almost everyone in claremore to pray for you. God will help you. I know from expirience. One time, I had to play a really tuff song at Southwood, and a bunch of old ladies( that I had never met in my life) said they would pray for me. When I was done with the song, I was shocked. I had played the song perfectly. Pretty cool huh? I miss ya and love ya, brother from a different mutha. From Wendall

Sending love and prayers from your Coweta neighbors. When I am confused I go back to my "knower". My "knower" is the Holy Spirit, he reminds me of God's promises. When nothing makes sense, The Holy Spirit comforts us. Here is what I know as truth from our Father,Healer,Comforter - Our Almighty God.
His love heals, he performs miracles every minute. His word alone created everything. He wants you to ask for what you need and then stand in belief that he will do it.
My favorite miracle (for my family) is on our second son Trent. In short 3 doctors,2 hospitals, and 3 ultrasounds told us that he was not a viable pregnancy, they urged me to abort, and re try for another baby. We prayed, and everyone who heard of our story prayed. For 4 long months, we only had bad news, no one believed he was going to develop. Except me and his Daddy, we asked, we believed and stood on God's promises. Thank you Jesus, we have a healthy, wonderful, perfect 6 year old little boy. I am believing for your miracle and waiting on the good news. People love you and most of all God loves you. Stay strong and keep reminding God of his promise to you. Love Christy Patton

It is awesome to see the man you have become. I remember, like it was yesterday, babysitting you and Emil and I wonder where the time went. You are not a little boy anymore, you are a strong couragous man and I am proud of you!! Keep up the fight and know that even while you are fighting God is using you to bring many people around the world closer to Him. He amazes me everyday with how He works all things to His glory and how He truly is worthy of all our praise. We are all praying for you and resting in the assurance that God is greater than all this and He is with you right now.

    Belinda,
I have been at a loss for what to say or do. One thing I have known to do is pray and watch to see what God is doing. That I learned by watching you in action over the years. Your faith and assurance in God is an example to us all. I am confidant that God will sustain you with His right hand that He will comfort you and support you. Blessed be the name of the Lord. He is your strength in this time of suffering. I love you and continue to petition God on Coleman's behalf and pray peace and comfort for you and Eric.

As you know a little over a year ago our family had to face some of the same medical issues with our father and his leukemia. Doctors told us to say our good-bye; we were realistic but did not give up. Lots of prayer pulled him out of the spiral. I have faith that Coleman too will pull out of this. God gives us strength that we never thought possible. Our thoughts and prayers are with you all.

  44. Dear Coleman & Family,

Coleman: I'm praying for you, Coleman and I hope you get better soon... I know you really don't know me... except for the one yearwe were on the golf team together your freshman year. (haha good times - Mr. Gammel...) You were such a comic relief to all of us here at Summit! I loved just listening to your random stories. We all loved you so much! We missed you dearly when you left Summit. However, I loved going to tech with you last year. I loved seeing how all of the councelors and teachers just adored you. I loved catching up with you just to see how life was going... and telling you how Summit was going as well!!! I love you Coleman... I pray that you stay strong and keep fighting so you can come home to your big ol' family and your fiance'!!!

Family: Coming from a fellow Summit student of Coleman's... We all loved Coleman and still very much do. Coleman - in the few short years he attended Summit - touched so many lives and became a vital part of Summit. Like I said he was such a comic relief to us. As much as I really didn't know Coleman that well, I have so many memories of Coleman... So many memories of practical jokes - played on teahers and students. Memories of totally getting a better score than him in one round of golf... lol. But mostly I remember his LAUGH...

P.S.- A message from Summit Christian Academy...
    - We love Coleman very much. We are praying for him. Our prayers are with his as you are going through this... We love you all.

  48. Dearest Belinda, Eric & Coleman,
Praise God prayers are being answered. It is such a blessing that they have decided the best thing for Coleman is to have unlimited access to you. I was looking at pictures of all of us earlier tonight and there are so many of Coleman and his very many different personalities. He always makes us
all laugh. Coleman (Cool Man, Cole Monster) has always brought so much life to every gathering. I am praying that new life, health & energy will be given to him through God’s healing hands. Stay strong Coleman and keep fighting.
Belinda words are so difficult to come by that truly express how I am feeling. My eyes are full of tears and my heart is heavy that I cannot be near you. I so want to hug you, bring you a diet coke from Sonic, a package of snowballs from Quik Trip, get you some nachos or make you some brownies. I want to sit and pray with you. As your big sister, I want to take care of you. So please know I am there in spirit, thought & prayer.
I pray that the Lord God Almighty will send an unexplainable miracle that will completely heal not only Coleman’s liver, but also his entire body. I pray that the infection in his body will be defeated. I pray that God will be at the doctors meeting and grant them great wisdom, insight and clarity. Thank You Lord that the doctors while not giving false hope, are still working on and believing in Coleman’s recovery. I pray that God will grant Belinda and Eric unending endurance, strength, peace and good health. Thank You Lord for the many prayers, support and good wishes being sent through this blog for Belinda to read to Coleman. I pray that Emil, Heather, Jordan and all of the family members will have peace and faith that surpasses all understanding. Thank You Lord for Your amazing grace, love and healing powers. God’s will be done. Amen
You are in my thoughts and prayers continually. I love you all very much! Cindi

Lord, be Eric, Belinda and Coleman's refuge and strength right now. May they know without a doubt you are right there with them. Despite language barriers, may the staff tending to Coleman recognize Your hand in Coleman's life right now. We continue to pray that you would heal Coleman's liver and restore him to health. May we continue to be amazed at your mercy and grace. Thank you for allowing Eric and Belinda to be right by Coleman's side - we know You have heard our cries and answered us. Amen.

  51. Dear Coleman, Jordan, Belinda, Eric, Emil and Hinkefent family ...

We're praying without ceasing here in AZ. Praise God that He has so quickly answered the prayer that you all could be close to him.

    Dearest Father,
We praise you, Lord, for the lives of all of the Hinkefents. We thank you for their examples of steadfast faith throughout the years.

We pray, Gracious Lord, that You will comfort them in their heartache. We ask that You will give them the peace that passes all comprehension, Lord.

Father, we deeply desire for You to heal Coleman. We know that You can do so with a word, Lord. Father, we are going to need people who will stand fast for Your Word, and we request Lord that You will allow Coleman to remain with us..that he and Jordan might be allowed to marry and raise world changers for Your Kingdom, Lord.

Father, we trust in Your sovereignty. We know that You cause all things to work together for good to those who love You and are called according to Your purpose. It is only because we know You, Lord, that we can trust in Your decision and Your purpose.

We praise You, Father, for we know that whatever you choose, the Hinkefents will glorify Your Name. We only ask that You draw so near to them, Lord...that Your Spirit will minister to them and through them continually.

We ask You to use this time, this trial Father, to bring many to Yourself.

Thank You for Coleman, Lord. His is such a spitfire, God...he's always brought so many smiles, thinking of him brings us joy through our tears, Lord.

    We love You Father...
    Amen

This does not hold a candle to what you are enduring right now, but it was extremely scary at the time and so I can relate at least a bit to your fight. Please know people all over the world are praying for you guys and for Coleman during this time. Coleman, hang in there! I pray you are all finding your strength and peace and hope in the palms of our Lord Jesus Christ. God certainly knows what it is like to watch a son suffer; may He hold you guys especially close and grant you grace beyond measure. Coleman, know that God is delighting over you with singing; may you find rest and peace and healing in His care. Knowing that words are inadequate, but our God is so much more than adequate, I beseech His blessings ~

  55. I am waiting with you to hear what the doctors have discussed. A doctor who is a missionary in a near by town is trying to get over to see you and Coleman........I am praying he will be able to get there soon. His name is Paul. He was contacted by a good friend of mine......through another missionary in Germany.
I love you all. Our prayers are being heard and answered a little at a time. Be strong and of good faith. So glad your getting to be by Coleman and that your hotel is closer. Find time to eat and drink plenty of water. You will need to be able to take care of Coleman when he comes home!! xoxoxoxo Bets

  60. O God, the strength of the weak and the comfort of sufferers: Mercifully accept our prayers, and grant to Your servant the help of Your power, that this sickness may be turned into health, and the sorrow of his family into joy; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

  61. As we gathered for worship at Heritage Bible on Sunday, Emil, Heather, and 10-13 friends of Coleman joined our service. The service was devoted to prayer. Various Scriptures were read and prayers offered by those present. Emil read the last verse,"Blessed be the LORD forever! Amen and Amen" (Psalm 89:52).

  67. Coleman,
I struggle for the right words, knowing your mom will be reading this post to you at some point. I remember teaching you guys I Thess 5. Remember? “Rejoice always; pray without ceasing… do not quench the Spirit” Remember that we “translated” ‘pray without ceasing’ to ‘constant conversation’? Well, my boy, I might have taught you this idea to begin with, but it is you who have now taught me what it means in practice. Prayer without pause, without reservation. Honest conversation with the Lord about our desires, our fears, our lives. I looked up the verse before I started to write. I had forgotten how the rest of it went. Amazing that something written so long ago is so incredibly current.

“Rejoice always; pray without ceasing; in everything give thanks; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.
Do not quench the Spirit; do not despise prophetic utterances.
But examine everything carefully; hold fast to that which is good; abstain from every form of evil.
Now may the God of peace Himself sanctify you entirely; and may your spirit and soul and body be preserved complete, without blame at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Faithful is He who calls you, and He also will bring it to pass.
    Brethren, pray for us.
Greet all the brethren with a holy kiss.
I adjure you by the Lord to have this letter read to all the brethren.
The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you.”

Please, Lord. Preserve Coleman’s spirit and soul and body.
Please, Lord. Grant a miracle. Please, bring it to pass.

    In faith, hope, and love,
    Jenifer

  68. Dear Belinda and Eric: We continually lift you, Coleman, your family and many friends in prayer. Philippians 4:19 "and my God will meet all your needs according to his glorious riches in Christ Jesus". Cling to Jesus as He carries you all through Coleman's illness. Lots of us in Midland are praying for a miracle. We love you, Vanessa & Robert

  69. Eric, Belinda, & Coleman -- the battle you all are enduring is great, but the grace that is in Christ is even greater.

Gerald and I are praying through out the day as you've requested. I pray your heart and your faith stay fixed upon Him as you go through this journey. Be assured He is holding your hand and will not, no will not, ever let go.

"Now unto Him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the poer that works in us, unto HIM BE THE GLORY...." Eph. 3:20

  72. Eric, Belinda and Coleman,
You're the last thing on our minds when we go to sleep and the first thing when we wake. I pray that you're getting some rest. At the prayer service at HBC yesterday I felt the presence of our Lord in a strange and wonderful way. I could almost physically feel His arms around us all weeping with us. I know that He is with you and will sustain you.
    Love, Teresa Marler

  73. Coleman, Just some things I wanted to let you know. I love you so very much! I am so proud of you, and I miss you. The song that is on this blog really spoke to me during this time of struggle. I love that even throughout this storm we are facing that God is being praised! You have been a witness to so many people through this! Yesterday in church we learned about another name for God that was Jehovah Shalom which means The Lord is peace! I found that so interesting as I had just learned that you are now resting comfortably and your mom is able to be by your side! I pray that you are being comforted by the Lord and that you will feel his healing power washing over you. I miss you and I miss all of us grandkids goofing around at family stuff. It was hard in the past couple of years as we are all growing up and going different directions. Sometimes I wish we could all just go back and be little kids again. Seems like life was so much more simple! I pray that you will get to come home and that we can all be together again! I love you and I am praying for you, Aunt B and Uncle Eric, the cousins as well as Jordan! -Katie

  74. Coleman, words can not express how I feel. I pray for you continuously each and every day. It seems like there isn't a moment that you are not in my thoughts and prayers. You are loved by everyone that knows you, which goes to show how incredible a person you are. Get well, and we will all continue that God blesses you with a Christmas Miracle.

  75. I rejoice in the answered prayer for the increased time with Coleman as I know it is a comfort to all of you. Eric & Belinda, one of my many prayers is for God's supernatural strength for you during these days. During my morning devotion I read this: "As God gives you greater skill as a soldier of the cross, He will send you on more difficult missions. As He more fully equips your ship to sail in storms, He will send you on longer voyages to more boisterous seas, so that you may honor Him and increase in holy confidence." You embody that statement today--your faith is an honor to observe and the testimony of your confidence in your Heavenly Father is a glory before man.

  76. I just have to thank Wendall for his "ps"plea for no more can food. Coleman you had to laugh with us on that one! Do you realize your mom decorated a Christmas tree this year, and put lights on the railing around the porch? But what I want you to picture is the huge wreath lighted up in the tower window. It is a welcoming site as you drive up the road to your home. It is a great beacon for you as well. Christ is the light of this world and his followers are united in a circle of love, in prayer shining away home for you. God your love is everlasting, never ending. Please help Coleman come home.
